- The weather is changing ongoing in mountains. The separation between the different types of weather is caused by the Mountain chains. That is why the whole alpine area is the border between the cold of nothern european weather and the warm weather in the South.
- Both of these weathertypes you find in Switserland. At regional level you even see these differences also.
- In the one valley it can rain , and in the next valley the sun is shining. But the weather changes rapidly, in the morning it can be dark or drizzly, and in the afternoon you see the sun. Unfortunately it can be of course the other way round. So take that into your account when plan a trip into the mountains.

- The quantity of rainfall divers al llot. The dry area's we find in the valley of the Rhône in Wallis. The climate you can compare with a steppe climate. Here grows grapes, grapefruits and apricotes. In the mountains of the south border of Italy rains approximately 400cm per year.
